"The Lord does not overlook the rights of the oppressed or the injustice done to the innocent.” – Lamentations 3:34-36
Innocence Freed is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing shelter, healing, and hope to survivors of adult and child sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Our comprehensive, trauma-informed programs integrate therapy, mentorship, placement and referral services, and education to restore dignity and independence to survivors. In addition to community-based services, Innocence Freed is working to establish a residential recovery home to provide a safe and supportive environment for minor and adult female survivors.
Innocence Freed envisions a future where the harm and prevalence of trafficking are significantly reduced, achieved by perfecting a holistic, trauma-informed model of survivor rehabilitation and support in Nebraska. Our aim is to not only heal individuals locally but to develop a nationally recognized model of excellence that can be replicated and adapted across the nation. Through strategic partnerships, advocacy, and widespread implementation of this model, we will drive a cultural shift that reduces vulnerability to exploitation, improves societal responses to trafficking, and strives to minimize its impact on individuals and communities.
We invite you to join us in this vital mission. Whether through donations, volunteering, or attending one of our events, your support can significantly impact survivors’ lives. With your help, we can create a world where every individual is free from sexual exploitation and has the opportunity to live a fulfilling life. No matter how small, each action contributes to a larger movement toward justice and safety.
Innocence Freed stands out as the only nonprofit organization in the state of Nebraska that provides a specialized aftercare program, support groups, and resources for survivors of sex trafficking, encompassing both female adults and minors. This unique position allows us to address a critical gap in services and support for trafficking survivors, ensuring they receive the comprehensive care they need for long-term recovery and reintegration into society.
Innocence Freed is dedicated to collaborating with other nonprofits across the nation that are tackling similar issues. We are enthusiastic about sharing our model with others, emphasizing that the empowerment of survivors transcends any single organization and centers entirely on the survivors themselves.
Innocence Freed believes in the power of collective action to make a difference. Only by working together can we empower survivors to break free from the cycle of human trafficking, giving them the strength to thrive and succeed.
The mission is to create an environment that fosters healing through compassionate care and education, addressing individuals’ physical, emotional, and intellectual needs to support their recovery and growth.

Innocence Freed
Broken girl belittled and used,
Beaten and bruised,
Innocence stolen and betrayed,
Abandoned and neglected,
Outlast and rejected.
Empty house, broken promises and dreams,
Faith shaken, hope lost.
Virtue and purity robbed
So much I have gone through,
But God is healing me from the inside out.
Redeeming me
Conquering trauma,
Recovering from addictions,
Breaking generational cycles,
Healing my inner child,
Changing my life so my kids won’t have to recover from the same trauma.
Innocence Freed
Releasing all negativity of the trauma I once knew, becoming transformed like a phoenix rising up from the ashes.
Bold and beautiful.
Fierce and courageous.

Human trafficking is a severe violation of human rights involving the exploitation of individuals through coercion, fraud, or force for various purposes, including forced labor, sexual exploitation, and other forms of exploitation. It is a global issue affecting millions of people, particularly vulnerable populations, and is considered a form of modern-day slavery. Helping the voiceless is about providing a safe space for their stories to be heard, supporting their journey toward healing, and using our platforms to speak out against the injustices they face. It's a vital part of creating a world where everyone is valued, protected, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Key Objectives of Innocence Freed
Equine-Assisted Learning & Therapy
Innocence Freed provides equine-assisted learning and therapy for both adults and youth. Through guided horse-assisted activities, survivors develop trust, emotional regulation, confidence, and healthy coping skills. This experiential therapy is a powerful tool for healing trauma and rebuilding a sense of safety.
Survivor Support for Independent Living
We offer confidential assistance for survivors transitioning into stable housing. This includes essential clothing, furniture, household items, and practical support, ensuring each survivor has what they need to begin independent living with dignity and stability.
Aftercare Program for Child and Adult Survivors
Our expanding aftercare program is designed specifically for children who have been trafficked. We provide ongoing therapy, educational support, recreational opportunities, mentorship, and life-skills development. Each service is tailored to meet their unique emotional and developmental needs.
Youth Center Groups for Teen Girls
Innocence Freed partners with the Douglas County Youth Center to provide weekly classes for detained teen girls. These classes focus on self-worth, online safety, prevention, education, healthy relationships, boundaries, emotional regulation, and recognizing exploitation. Through trauma-informed teaching, mentorship, and consistent support, we bring hope, prevention, and early intervention to youth at high risk for trafficking into the jail.
Residential Recovery for Children
Innocence Freed is actively working to establish a residential recovery home for minor female survivors. This program will offer a safe, nurturing, and trauma-informed environment with an evidence-based curriculum where girls can heal, stabilize, and thrive. On-site support will include education, medical coordination, therapeutic services, and life-skills training. Love is the motive.
Comprehensive Care and Recovery Housing for Adult Survivors
We continue to serve adult women through trauma-informed therapy with evidence-based curriculum, mentorship, online and in-person support groups, case management, placement, and referral services. Our goal is long-term healing, stability, and empowerment.
Fundraising & Community Partnerships
To sustain and expand our programs, Innocence Freed engages in strategic fundraising and community partnerships. Donor support fuels our ability to grow aftercare services, launch residential programs, expand equine therapy, and meet the increasing need across Nebraska. Every contribution helps build a sustainable future for survivors.
The intersections of oppression (gender, immigration status, disability, history of abuse, economic status, ethnic background, sexual orientation, etc.) increase the vulnerability of people to trafficking and present additional barriers to accessing services after they have been trafficked.
