Clothed in Grace: Restoring Dignity One Outfit at a Time

For many survivors of trafficking and exploitation, healing involves much more than counseling, housing, or case management. It also includes restoring dignity, confidence, choice, and identity. That is the heart behind Clothed in Grace: Innocence Freed Boutique by Clothes Mentor.

Recently featured by KETV Newswatch 7, Clothed in Grace was created to provide survivors of trafficking with a safe, private, and confidential shopping experience where they can choose clothing that reflects who they are today, not who others told them they were. Survivors often face significant barriers when rebuilding their lives, including financial hardship, lack of necessities, and emotional triggers associated with public spaces. For many, simply walking into a crowded store can be overwhelming and offer no sense of privacy.

At Innocence Freed, we recognized this need and began dreaming about a different kind of shopping experience. One that is free to her and where survivors could browse at their own pace, feel safe, and regain a sense of control and personal choice.

That dream became a reality through an incredible partnership with Andrea McCarter, co-owner at Clothes Mentor Omaha, and the generosity of our community. Clothes Mentor has helped provide quality clothing and accessories, ensuring survivors have access to items that help them feel confident as they move forward in their healing journey.

The vision was then beautifully brought to life by Beth Settles and the talented team at Interiors Joan & Associates. Beth donated decor, time, creativity, and expertise to transform a space into something truly special. Every detail was intentionally designed to create an environment that feels welcoming, peaceful, and empowering.

What could have been a simple clothing room became a boutique.

A place where survivors can be reminded that they are valued.

A place where they can experience dignity.

A place where they can begin to see themselves differently.

At Innocence Freed, we know that restoration happens through many small moments. Sometimes it is a counseling session. Sometimes it is a support group. Sometimes it is someone believing in you when you struggle to believe in yourself.

And sometimes, healing begins with the simple ability to choose an outfit that makes you feel beautiful, confident, and worthy.

We are deeply grateful to Beth Settles, Interiors Joan & Associates, Andrea McCarter, Clothes Mentor Omaha, our volunteers, donors, and every person who contributed jewelry, furniture, décor, time, and resources to make Clothed in Grace possible.

We are creating spaces where survivors are seen, valued, and given opportunities to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

If you would like to support Clothed in Grace by donating clothing, sponsoring survivor needs, or partnering with Innocence Freed, we would love to connect with you. Email us at info@innocencefreed.org

Because every survivor deserves the opportunity to walk forward in freedom, dignity, and grace.
