Our Vision

Our vision is to develop a nationally recognized model of excellence that transforms the lives of adult and child victims of human trafficking. Our Future

To provide a safe home with animal-assisted onsite therapy so that trafficked children can live with dignity, respect, and FREEDOM. Collaborating with community partners, law enforcement, governments, and non-governmental entities to protect our communities, hold traffickers accountable, and provide justice for survivors.

Our Guiding Principles

  • Human trafficking violates a person’s human rights.
  • Everyone has the right to a violence-free, safe, and healthy life.
  • Sexual exploitation such as stripping and escorting is not empowerment of oneself and career but is degrading and sexually immoral.
  • Each individual’s experience is unique, and human trafficking cases fall on a wide spectrum of exploitation, where many rise to the level of modern-day slavery.
  • It is a fundamental right to be free of labor/sexual exploitation in all of its forms.
  • Victims of human trafficking are victims through force, threat of force, fraud, or coercion.
  • The intersections of oppression (gender, immigration status, disability, history of abuse, economic status, ethnic background, sexual orientation, etc.) increase the vulnerability of people to trafficking and present additional barriers to accessing services after they have been trafficked.

Many conditions foster human trafficking, including poverty, insecurity, forced migration, pornography, and family dysfunction. Individuals alone cannot end the conditions that promote human trafficking, and a multidisciplinary team is necessary to make a substantive social and institutional change.

Victim Services should be

  • Trauma-informed, evidence-based on the empowerment model of service
    provision and recovery.
  • An empowerment model of service provision is strengths-based, comprehensive, and respects an individual’s autonomy and self-determination.
  • Holistic in mind, body, and spirit.
  • Maintaining sobriety including prescribed medications that promote addiction and keep the survivor high.

Our Philosophy

Human trafficking is a complex issue. Anti-trafficking efforts must uphold best practices to ensure the highest level of prevention education and care for victims and survivors. For that reason, Innocence Freed supports the following philosophy regarding prevention, awareness, advocacy, intervention, safety, protection, and restoration efforts.

Our Core Values

Collaboration – We believe that the fight to end human trafficking must be approached collaboratively through community awareness, multidisciplinary team efforts, and holistic restoration.

Integrity & Transparency – As experts and leaders in the fight to end exploitation and human trafficking, we believe in organizational transparency for our stakeholders and strategic stewardship.

Empowerment – We believe in a culture of empowerment for our team, our partners, and those we serve.

God-Centered – Centering our program around Christ Jesus shows a commitment to providing holistic support that addresses the spiritual as well as the physical and emotional needs of survivors. Faith-based approaches can provide comfort, hope, and a sense of purpose for survivors as they navigate their journey of healing and restoration.

Innocence Freed’s Responsibilities are to

Advocate

To ensure survivors have a voice, access to necessary resources, and the support they need to navigate the complexities of recovery. By amplifying their voices and advocating for their rights, ensuring that survivors are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion is paramount in their journey to recovery and empowerment.

Creating a supportive and understanding environment can make a significant difference in their healing process.

Restore

Providing survivors of human trafficking with comprehensive support, including physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual assistance, is essential for their healing and empowerment.

Protect

Creating a safe and compassionate environment for survivors is fundamental to their recovery journey. Offering both short and long-term programs that provide housing and free services is crucial for survivors to rebuild their lives without the fear of exploitation or harm to ensure that survivors have access to the support and services they need.

Awareness

Raising awareness about human trafficking is crucial in combating this heinous crime. Education is indeed one of the most powerful tools in prevention efforts and we must speak out about the truth of human trafficking.

Action

We don’t just talk, but we do what we say and our supporters deserve that level of accountability. Actions truly speak louder than words, especially in such critical work. Demonstrating consistency and reliability in your support for survivors and your advocacy efforts builds trust with both survivors and supporters alike.

Safety

Creating a safe and secure environment for survivors of human trafficking is paramount. It’s not just about offering services; it’s about ensuring that survivors feel protected and supported in every possible way. By emphasizing physical, psychological, and emotional safety, we can ensure that survivors of human trafficking receive the holistic support they need to heal and rebuild their lives.

Intervention

Implementing trauma-informed care as the foundation of our intervention plan is a crucial step toward providing effective support for survivors of human trafficking. Having a comprehensive list of local, regional, and national resources easily accessible to all staff members is essential.

Future

To provide a safe home with animal-assisted onsite therapy so that trafficked children can live with dignity, respect, and FREEDOM. Collaborating with community partners, law enforcement, governments, and non-governmental entities to protect our communities, hold traffickers accountable, and provide justice for survivors.
