Awareness Is the Beginning – Collaboration Is the Work.
KETV Newswatch 7 Interview with Founder and CEO, Julie Shrader
Human trafficking is often misunderstood, minimized, or assumed to be something that happens somewhere else. In reality, it exists in communities across Nebraska, impacting individuals and families in ways that are not always visible or easy to identify.
During National Human Trafficking Awareness Month, local organizations, advocates, and partners were invited to share how collaboration plays a critical role in prevention, identification, and survivor support at the Nebraska State Capitol. The following news segment highlights why working together, across systems and missions, is essential to protecting the vulnerable and ensuring survivors are not left navigating recovery alone.
At Innocence Freed, we believe awareness must lead to action, and action must be rooted in humility, coordination, and survivor-centered care. This conversation reflects the importance of community responsibility and shared commitment in addressing human trafficking, not as isolated efforts, but as a united response.
Watch the segment below to learn more about how Nebraska organizations are coming together to strengthen awareness and support.
