Facing the Unthinkable: Supporting Survivors of Satanic Ritual Abuse

There are forms of trauma so dark, so evil, that many struggle to believe they exist. But disbelief does not erase reality.

At Innocence Freed, we stand alongside survivors of satanic ritual abuse (SRA)—many of whom were harmed as children in ways that defy comprehension. These individuals endured repeated, organized abuse by those who often held positions of trust or power. This is not just abuse; it is trauma with spiritual, emotional, and psychological layers that are as complex as they are devastating.

What is Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA)?

Satanic ritual abuse refers to a severe form of organized abuse that often involves repeated physical, sexual, psychological, and spiritual violence, frequently carried out in the context of satanic or occult rituals. Survivors report being subjected to threats, mind control tactics, forced participation in rituals, and deliberate attempts to destroy their sense of identity and connection to God. In almost all cases, this abuse begins in early childhood, is multi-generational, and is hidden through fear, secrecy, and manipulation.

SRA is designed to control, torture/terrorize, and spiritually wound its victims. Whether or not someone believes in the rituals themselves, the abuse and trauma inflicted are very real. Included with the rituals are sexual exploitation and human trafficking.  SRA and human trafficking go hand in hand, and children are being horrifically abused in the name of a dark deity named Baal, Baphomet, Devil, Satan, Lucifer or other names.

SRA is often hidden behind a wall of silence, secrecy, fear, and shame. The perpetrators are fathers, mothers, siblings, grandparents, political officials, priests, pastors, the rich, the poor, and law enforcement. Survivors have told us they were silenced for years, even decades, fearing they would not be believed or would be further harmed if they spoke out. Some dissociated to survive. Others bore physical scars and spiritual torment. And yet—here they are. Still standing and still fighting to be free.

At Innocence Freed, we believe them. We do not turn away from their pain. We walk with them. Healing from this kind of trauma requires more than traditional therapy. It takes trauma-informed, survivor-led support and, for many, spiritual healing. We believe that Jesus came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free, although many survivors do not want to follow any religion or hear about Jesus, as it is used against survivors of SRA.

These stories may be hard to hear, but they must be told. Not only for justice, but for healing. Because every survivor deserves to be seen, heard, and most of all, believed.

To every survivor of SRA:
You are not alone.
You are not forgotten.
And your story matters.

We will continue to stand in the gap until the silence is broken, the systems are exposed, and every survivor finds safety and restoration.

If you or someone you know is a survivor of ritual abuse and needs support, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Innocence Freed. We are here. We believe you.
